"Akolouthos" es un oficial del ejército bizantino que en diferentes épocas desempeñó distintas funciones. En particular, era el jefe de los mercenarios extranjeros, incluida la guardia varega. Una hechicera que usa un solo hechizo en el campo de batalla. Después de realizar un vil ritual, comienza a escupir serpientes enormes que se retuercen y devoran todo lo que consideran vivo en el área. Un horror gélido se extiende en oleadas desde el lugar donde se realiza el ritual, paralizando a los oponentes, que se convertirán en presa fácil de los bastardos.
Por supuesto, la hechicera no da a luz a monstruos en el sentido animal de la palabra. Más bien, usa su cuerpo como una especie de puerta, un portal, atrayendo irresistiblemente a las serpientes de algunos mundos oscuros y desconocidos donde viven. El poder del hechizo las arroja, cubiertas de sangre y baba, al suelo de piedra de la mazmorra, donde la batalla se desata y pocas personas comunes pueden soportar esta vista.
La propia hechicera a menudo muere durante el ritual. El corsé de hierro y las cadenas que llevan en las caderas deberían protegerla de ser destrozada, pero no siempre ayudan.

Hace unos años (en realidad, más de 10...) hice 3 figuras de "Rodeleros" españoles. Tuvieron bastante éxito, pero luego las quité de la tienda porque cuando estás creciendo, una vez que algunos modelos antiguos dejan de verse bien para ti, piensas "ahora puedo hacerlo mucho mejor"
No es este caso :)) porque realmente no tengo tiempo para hacer nuevos Rodeleros. ¡Pero tenemos a alguien que puede hacerlo por nosotros!

Por cierto, no sabía que esculpieras a mano... ¿Piensas expandir esta gama?

Así las amazonas, doncellas de anchas caderas con yelmos forjados,
lanzaron sus gritos, alzando sables curvos
que en su forma se asemejan a peces,
brillando con un bronce intenso.
Cuando los antiguos griegos diseñaban la espada xiphos, la musa del diseño aparentemente se había marchado para algún asunto propio y regresó poco después. Puede que sea perfectamente práctica y cómoda en su uso, pero parece como si un niño de cinco años hubiera dibujado el boceto.
¡Otra cosa: el kopis o falcata! Esta temible cuchilla de hacha con su curva invertida, con forma de pez saltando, parece decirnos: ¿recuerdan cómo se ven las extremidades separadas del cuerpo? Permítanme recordarles.
Muchas de ellas yacen en museos, y lucen amenazantes incluso cubiertas por la oscura pátina de siglos soñolientos. Hojas marrones rotas, con ese antiguo verdín asentado en los huecos de sus diseños.
Para mí, esta espada, junto con el yelmo corintio, es una de las imágenes más vívidas del Mediterráneo de la Edad de Bronce; la falcata también era muy apreciada en Iberia.
¿Y yo qué?
Estoy creando nuevas amazonas: una fuerza de ataque de guerreras de anchas caderas.
Las falcatas resurgirán en sus manos, resplandeciendo con un bronce radiante y salvaje,
y dejarán que Eros y Tánatos caminen de la mano.
¡Por fin lo logré!
Escuadrón de asalto: un conjunto de 5 amazonas con escudos y sables. Continúo con mi ejército de damas griegas desnudas.
¡También incluyo las calcomanías que aparecen en los escudos! Las hice yo mismo y estoy bastante orgulloso :)
